Mount Calvary Baptist Church - Counseling Ministry
One Church two locations, A Multi-Ethnic Ministry

Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14 (AMP)

Every now and then, even for people of God, life can throw a punch that is so shocking that it shakes us at our very core.  When this happens, it can be extraordinarily healing and helpful to have a safe place to sort through the many factors and fall-out from such unsettling or devastating situations.  A combination of wise counsel, spiritual guidance, the Word of God, and prayer can help someone to regain their footing and move forward again.

Keeping in line with God's Word, the mission of the Mt. Calvary Counseling Ministry is to provide Christ-centered, Bible-based counseling and support to the members and the local community.  This ministry is designed to address the needs of people in varying degrees of emotional distress by assisting them to develop more effective copying skills to handle problems, resolve relationship issues, get beyond their crisis , and heal deep emotional wounds.

Those that seek counseling will be challenged to change self-defeating behaviors, thought patterns and mindsets.  They will be guided and supported to replace them with new found hope, strengthened Christian values and beliefs, a lifestyle reflecting a stronger Christian walk and dynamic personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Counseling Ministry is staffed by master and doctorate level counselors who are licensed by the State of California or registered with the state to obtain their licensure.  We provide services that include individual therapy, family therapy, marriage counseling, couples counseling, and spiritual guidance and coaching.  We also offer workshops, support groups and a "Rejoicing In Recovery - RIR" program for all forms of addiction.

Meetings for Rejoicing In Recovery - RIR" are held on every Friday, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM in the Zoe Building located at 1745 Enterprise Drive. (Directly across the parking lot from the main sanctuary.)

A ministry and support for families who have loved ones that are incarcerated.  Children are welcomed.

The emotional stress and pain of having a loved one in prison can be devastating.  The loss, shame, guilt, sadness, stigma, frustration, loneliness, anger, and financial hardship are only a few of the challenges that these families deal with every day.  Additionally, transitioning back into the home can be a relief yet extremely stressful and continued strain on the family as everyone adjusts to the incarcerated loved one returning home and reuniting back into the family system.

Please register by April 28, 2017 by calling (707) 399-2495 or email .  Refreshments will be served.

Counseling ministry, in partnership with others, will be available for families as they face any of the above transitions.  We all have had someone that we know and love impacted.  Whether it be a spouse, child, sibling, grandchild, friend, neighbor, etc. there is benefit in knowing that "we are not alone."
