Praise and Worship Ministry

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is with tremendous sincerity and humility that I welcome you to our Worship Ministry of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

It is our prayer that you will receive an anointed blessing from being part of this dynamic ministry to worship in song. You will find that we are more than a choir of Worship Ministry we are also a “family.”

Our rehearsals on Wednesdays and Thursdays are more than preparation; you will witness and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is our focus to be prepared to lead the body of Christ in worship. In this preparation we share in fun, fellowship, prayer, spiritual uplift and praise!

Singing is evident throughout the Word of God as an expression to worship Him. One of my favorite scriptures

Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

This is what we aim to do through our weekly rehearsals. It is important that we offer the Lord our best.

Our requirements and expectations as a ministry are available so that you understand our ministry focus and our desire to appeal to “called people” to serve with us. Please know that WE NEED YOU and have a place for you! If you plan after attending one rehearsal to join us, then merely come back to our next rehearsal for a second consecutive rehearsal to finalize your membership. We will have a NEW MEMBER packet that will assist you as you experience this dynamic journey. If you are not sure about your commitment yet, feel free to visit a few more rehearsals and let us know. Under the Worship Ministry we have various choirs to minister in song:

Mass Choir: All choirs united; singing all genres of gospel songs
IVMC (Inspirational Voices of Mount Calvary): Contemporary genre of gospel songs
Sanctuary: Traditional genre of gospel songs
SOT (Sons of Thunder): All Male Choir
VOP (Voices of Promise): Youth & Young Adult choir
VSC (Voices Sharing Christ): Children’s choir

Once you become part of the Worship & Arts Division, you are welcome to sing in any choirs you feel are applicable to you. The Mass Choir is a prerequisite to all choirs.
