Purpose of This Ministry

To provide support for Intake Counselors, New Member Orientation Facilitator(s), Discipleship Class Coordinators, and the Discipleship Division office to guide new church members into becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Strategy

Intake Counselors -- The Decision Counseling Ministry (Intake) at MCBC is an extremely important ministry. During our worship services, and at other events, there are opportunities for people to make important personal decisions, therefore decision counselors are essential! Decision counselors help and guide people:

• To accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
• To help individuals clarify the decision they are making.
• To assist people understand and take steps toward baptism and church membership.
• To encourage new believers and believers rededicating their lives and their walk with Christ.
• To pray with individuals and families regarding decisions being made and other needs in their lives.

New Member Orientation Facilitator(s) – The New Member Orientation Facilitator leads new members of the church to learn about the following: 

INTRODUCTION and HISTORY OF MOUNT CALVARY

• What is church?
• Why join a church?

OUR SALVATION (WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US)

• What it means to be a Christian 
• The Symbols of Salvation: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

OUR STATEMENTS (WHY WE EXIST AS A CHURCH)

• Our Purpose Statement - Why We Exist
• A) Core Ministry Values
• B) Vision
• C) Our Faith Statement - What We Believe
• D) Our Lifestyle Statement - What We Practice
